Abstract
|
|
|
Surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are the main modalities available for treating
the patients of the advanced esophageal cancer, however, are not good candidates for
either surgery or radiotherapy because of the advanced stage of the disease, and
chemotherapy still seems to provide little benefit. Hyperthermia is one additional
modality for treating the clinical malignancies and has the synergistic response for
radiation and chemotherapy.
In our clinic, we had experienced the hyperthermic treatment for advanced esophageal
cancer combined with chemoradiotherapy, and described the results as follows.
